He urged ministries and state governments to ensure timely execution of projects, strengthen monitoring mechanisms, and adopt innovative practices to achieve the mission’s objectives. Modi highlighted that Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0 is central to improving public health, environmental sustainability, and quality of life for citizens.
The PM also reviewed progress on related infrastructure initiatives, stressing the need for inter-ministerial coordination and active participation of local bodies. He reiterated that cleanliness and sanitation are not just government programs but people’s movements, requiring collective responsibility.
Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0 builds on the achievements of the first phase, with a sharper focus on waste segregation, treatment, and circular economy practices. The PRAGATI platform continues to serve as a key mechanism for monitoring flagship schemes and resolving bottlenecks in implementation.
