A suicide car bomb blast targeting a police station in northwest Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province killed five people late Thursday night. The attack occurred in Domel tehsil of Bannu district, leaving several others injured.
Police officials confirmed that three women and a child were among the dead, while at least four police personnel sustained injuries. The powerful explosion destroyed nearby houses and triggered gunfire immediately after the blast, spreading panic among residents.
Authorities said the bomber rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into the police station compound, causing extensive damage. Rescue teams rushed to the scene, recovering bodies and transporting the wounded to local hospitals.
While no group has claimed responsibility, the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has denied involvement. Investigations are underway to determine the perpetrators behind the deadly attack.
The incident highlights the persistent threat of militancy in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a region bordering Afghanistan, and underscores the vulnerability of civilians caught in conflict zones.
