Srinagar Airport has announced partial runway closures for maintenance beginning July 2026, with a complete shutdown scheduled from October 1, 2026.
Officials said the phased closures are necessary to carry out resurfacing and safety upgrades, ensuring the runway meets international standards.
Partial closures in July and August will allow limited flight operations, while airlines are being advised to adjust schedules in advance.
The total shutdown from October 1 will temporarily halt all flight movements, with alternate arrangements being coordinated through Jammu and other nearby airports.
Authorities emphasized that the maintenance is critical to passenger safety and long-term operational efficiency at Srinagar Airport.
Travelers are urged to stay updated on airline advisories and plan journeys accordingly during the maintenance period.
