Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi has stated that terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed a huge decline, reflecting the success of sustained counter-terror operations and evolving security measures in the region.
Speaking at an interactive session, the Army Chief emphasized that India will continue to treat terrorists and their supporters alike, sending a firm message to Pakistan against cross-border terrorism. He reiterated that talks and terror cannot go together, underscoring India’s policy of the new normal in dealing with its neighbor.
General Dwivedi also highlighted that India’s relations with China have improved over the past year following leadership-level engagements. He stressed that India’s focus remains on progress and prosperity, but warned that any obstacles created through terrorism will be met with strong action.
The Army Chief’s remarks underline the government’s commitment to ensuring peace and stability in Jammu and Kashmir while advancing national development goals.
