Air India and its subsidiary Air India Express will operate 30 special flights to West Asia today, March 23, 2026, to facilitate travel amid the ongoing regional conflict. The initiative is part of the government’s efforts to ensure safe passage and maintain connectivity for Indian citizens and expatriates.
According to officials, the flights will cover destinations including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Muscat, Kuwait, and Bahrain. Additional services are being coordinated to meet the surge in demand and to assist those seeking to return to India or travel for essential purposes.
The Ministry of Civil Aviation has directed both carriers to prioritize passenger safety and provide necessary support at airports. Coordination with Indian missions abroad has also been strengthened to ensure smooth boarding and assistance for stranded nationals.
The 30 flights scheduled today are part of a larger evacuation and connectivity plan, with more services expected in the coming days depending on the evolving situation in West Asia. Officials have assured that contingency measures are in place to expand operations if required.
