Special Gram Sabhas are set to be organised across villages in Chhattisgarh as part of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, with the aim of strengthening grassroots participation in governance and accelerating rural development. The initiative seeks to ensure that government schemes and welfare programmes reach every household, while also encouraging community involvement in shaping local priorities.
Officials stated that the Gram Sabhas will serve as platforms for villagers to directly engage with representatives, share feedback, and highlight local needs. The sessions will focus on awareness about flagship schemes related to health, education, agriculture, housing, and social security, ensuring that benefits are delivered inclusively and transparently.
The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, launched nationwide, is designed to promote citizen-centric governance and bridge gaps in service delivery. In Chhattisgarh, the organisation of Special Gram Sabhas is expected to empower rural communities by fostering dialogue, accountability, and collective decision-making at the village level.
Authorities emphasised that the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to building a developed India by 2047, with rural empowerment forming a cornerstone of this vision.
